Snowdrop Walk

A small group of (relatively) early risers joined Colin for this year’s snowdrop walk at The Happy Return on Sunday morning this week.

Starting in gorgeous sunshine, and with only a teeny shower of rain halfway through, we slipped and slid our way around Colin and Susy’s lovely woodland garden observing banks and expanses of snowdrops throughout. Colin explained how the snowdrop garden had evolved over the last forty years, and in the margins we discussed starling murmurations, local drainage, fungi (see attached pic), and the recent expansion of the River Otter estuary nature reserve at Budleigh Salterton.

Susy’s apple cake was even better than usual too.
